How much should I pay a domestic worker?

Pay depends on the role, experience, languages and whether it is live-in or live-out. A domestic worker with several years of UAE experience will expect more than someone newer to the country. Agree the figure directly with the candidate, confirm what it covers (day off, flights, accommodation) and put it in writing before the start date.

Should I choose live-in or live-out?

Live-in suits families who need help across the day and have room for the worker to stay over. Live-out works when you need set hours and prefer your evenings private. Weigh your space, your hours and your budget - live-out often costs more per hour but gives you back your evenings.

What visa and paperwork do I need to hire a worker?

For a full-time worker, you sponsor the visa as the employer - either through private sponsorship on your own establishment card or through a licensed Tadbeer centre. For part-time or hourly help, engage the worker through a properly licensed agency rather than informally. Always confirm the candidate's current status before you commit.
